Privacy Policy

KlipDeals is built to be useful without being nosy. You never need an account to browse or use a code, and we keep the data we handle to a minimum. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. The short version

• No account, login or email is required to use the site.
• We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to keep the site fast and relevant.
• When you vote on a code, we store a one-way hashed token, not your raw IP address.
• We never sell your personal data.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run and improve the service:

• Usage analytics: non-identifying signals such as pages viewed, approximate region (derived from your IP, not stored against you), device and browser type, and referring site.
• Server logs: standard technical logs that may include IP address, timestamp and requested URL, used for security, abuse prevention and debugging.
• Voting tokens: when you mark a code as worked or did not work, we store a one-way hash that lets us prevent duplicate votes without identifying you.
• Submissions: if you submit a code or contact us, we keep what you send so we can act on it.

We do not require, and do not ask for, sensitive personal information to use the directory.

3. How we use data

We use this information to display and rank codes, calculate Health Scores, keep the site fast and secure, prevent fraud and abuse, understand aggregate usage trends, and respond to messages you send us. We do not use it to build advertising profiles about you.

4. Votes and submissions

Voting is anonymous. We derive a hashed token from technical signals so the same code cannot be voted on repeatedly by the same source, but we do not store your raw IP address against your vote and we cannot trace a vote back to you. Submissions you choose to send are stored so we can review and, where appropriate, publish them.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies for core site functionality, and we may use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across the web. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; essential features should still work, though some preferences may not be remembered.

6. Third parties and affiliates

When you click through to a store, you leave KlipDeals and enter that merchant's website, which is governed by its own privacy policy. Some of these links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no cost to you (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We also rely on a small set of service providers, such as analytics and hosting, who process limited data on our behalf under their own terms.

7. Data retention

We keep server logs and analytics only as long as needed for security and to understand trends, then delete or anonymize them. Voting tokens are retained while a code is live so duplicate votes can be prevented. Messages you send us are kept for as long as needed to handle your request.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we deliberately collect so little, we may not hold information that identifies you. To make a request, email [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children

KlipDeals is not directed at children and is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected clearly on this page.
